IDG Connect Profiles Estel Tech Corporation CTO Dan Bricklin

Estel TechThis week, IDG Connect reporter Michael Veitch published an extensive interview with CTO Dan Bricklin. The interview profiles Bricklin's contributions to the computer industry, from creating the "killer app" for the PC to developing one of the top 50 apps for the iPad, and includes his views on some of the latest trends in the market.

The interview offers Bricklin's perspective on the changes he's seen in the industry over the years, his take on moves by giants such as Microsoft and Apple, and latest excitement and work around new mobile technologies that once only existed in Sci-Fi movies. He also explains his reasons for joining Estel Tech and his work to help companies use HTML5 to build apps that work across a range of platforms.

In the interview, Bricklin discusses his recent decision to join Estel Tech:
I saw businesses were going to replace clipboards with tablets and that’s why I decided to join Estel Tech. I couldn’t do everything on my own because there’s so much at the back end you need to do but I wanted to innovate at the front end...[Automating cross-platform capabilities] is extremely important in business. You’d think that most companies would have started taking great advantage of custom mobile opportunities internally, but most haven’t gotten there yet.

Using the Estel Tech Transform no-code product, business users and developers can take full advantage of all the capabilities of the smartphone to turn any form into a mobile app in minutes, and power users can add advanced app functionality with Estel Tech Transform's built-in programming language. IT developers can use the Estel Tech Anywhere low-code environment to develop complex web or mobile business apps from scratch, integrate data with existing systems of record and workflows (including data collected via Estel Tech Transform), and add additional security or authentication requirements to protect corporate data.
